    Tips on holding a successful fundraiser
    Raising money for your organization is easy if you keep these tips in mind:

    1. Establish a goal

    • How much money does the group need to raise?
    • What will the group's expenses be?

    2. Name a chairman or coordinator. Consider someone who:

    • Is reliable
    • Has free time
    • Has organizational and good communication skills
    • Has the appropriate personality for the cause

    3. Gather a fundraising committee

    • Select one adult per 20 participants
    • Maintain a list of members and their phone numbers
    • Make one person responsible for collecting the money

    4. Decide when and how to sell mark products

    • Select a start date and an end date for your fundraiser
    • Establish incentives if desired

    5. Publicize/advertise your fundraiser

    • Distribute flyers around the neighborhood, campus, grocery stores and malls
    • Solicit free radio or TV advertising
    • Run an ad in the community newspaper
    • Discuss the fundraiser at meetings and social events

    6. Collect the money

    • Ensure all money is collected by the established deadline
